What do you get when you put together:
 |
| loved ones, |
 |
| a beautiful part of Devon, |
 |
| a train ride and a ferry ride to get there, |
 |
a two hour wait near the finishing line. with a crowd in good spirits despite the fact
that the nation's favourite cyclist, Wiggo, had a tummy bug and was out of the race, |
 |
| the Tour of Britain Mascot, |
 |
| clear blue skies and television cameras |
 |
the winner Pablo Urtasan.
and all the other cyclists including Mark Cavendish,
our Team GB road cycling Olympian, |
 |
and the winners' podium?

You get a fab frugal family day out, that's what! Stage 7 of the Tour of Britain, free-to-view, ending in Dartmouth. The Olympic spirit lives on!
I love events like this. This weekend a local business is hosting a dog show. I've never been to one and since it is free to the community I'll be attending my first ever.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a dog, but we love our local dog show, especially the 'dog with the waggiest tail' category! I hope you have fun!
DeleteI always hear about Tour de France, but never about Tour of Britain. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe Tour of Britain has been going for a few years, but it's getting a lot more coverage this year, after our Tour de France and Olympic cycling successes, and what with cycling undergoing something of a renaissance in this country at the moment.
DeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteit sure sounds like you had a great time. I need to find a map so I can see where these places are located? (You've mentioned Devon before -- did you say that's where you are from?)
Check out the South West of England! Cornwall is the most south westerly tippy toe of the UK, and Devon is next door. Both are counties with lots of coastline and moorland in the middle.
